Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 3, 2026

1. Introduction and scope

Cinel provides an AI visual creation service that lets you generate, edit, organize, and export images and video (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how Cinel collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you use cinel.app, our creative workspace, related support channels, and any features that link to this policy.

By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service. This policy does not govern websites, products, or services operated by third parties; their own privacy notices apply.

2. Key definitions

In this Privacy Policy:

  • “Account” means a Cinel account used to access account-level features.
  • “Creative Inputs” means prompts, uploaded images, reference files, settings, and other materials you submit to the Service.
  • “Outputs” means images, video, and related media created through the Service.
  • “Personal Information” means information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to an individual.
  • “Service Providers” means companies that process information for us to help operate the Service.

3. Information we collect and process

We follow a data-minimization approach. Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect or process the following information:

  • Account information, including your email address, authentication provider details, account name or avatar where provided, session information, and account preferences.
  • Creative Inputs and Outputs, including prompts, uploaded files, selected models, generation settings, generated images or video, project data, and history associated with a session or Account.
  • Subscription and billing information, including plan information, credit balances, order records, payment status, subscription status, and transaction identifiers. Payment card or bank details are processed by the payment provider and are not stored by Cinel unless separately stated at checkout.
  • Technical, usage, and security information, including browser and device information, IP address, event and error logs, approximate location inferred from IP where available, cookies, and anti-abuse or fraud-prevention signals.
  • Support communications, including the information you provide when you contact us, submit feedback, report a problem, or request help.

You should upload only material you have the right to use. Creative Inputs may contain personal information, including images of people; please do not submit sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for your intended use and you have a lawful basis to do so.

4. How we use information

We use information to:

  • provide image and video generation, editing, reference, history, download, account, and subscription features;
  • authenticate users, manage sessions, verify accounts, and help users recover access to an Account;
  • process orders, subscriptions, credits, refunds where applicable, and customer-support requests;
  • maintain, troubleshoot, measure, and improve the Service;
  • protect the Service, our users, and third parties from fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our terms; and
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

We do not sell Personal Information. We do not use Creative Inputs or Outputs to train third-party AI models unless we clearly tell you otherwise and obtain any consent required by applicable law.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for essential Service functions, including authentication, session management, security, language preference, theme preference, and product functionality. Where enabled, we may also use analytics tools to understand how the Service is used and improve performance.

You can usually control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking or deleting essential cookies may prevent some parts of the Service from working correctly. Browser-based controls may not remove server-side records already associated with your Account.

6. How information is shared

We share only the information reasonably necessary to operate the Service. Depending on the feature you use, recipients may include Service Providers for:

  • authentication and account services;
  • payment, subscription, billing, and tax administration;
  • cloud hosting, database services, object storage, email delivery, and infrastructure security;
  • analytics, error monitoring, and abuse prevention; and
  • AI generation and media-processing providers required to render a selected model or feature.

For AI processing, we may send the minimum Creative Inputs needed to complete your request, such as a prompt, selected settings, and an uploaded reference image. We do not intentionally send your account password, payment card number, or unrelated Account information to an AI generation provider. A provider’s handling of data is also subject to its contractual terms and privacy practices.

We may also disclose information if required by law, in response to lawful requests, to protect rights, safety, and security, or in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets. Where required, we will provide notice of a material change in control of Personal Information.

7. Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes in this policy, including operation, security, support, billing, dispute resolution, legal compliance, and enforcement.

  • Anonymous use. Some guest generation and security records are processed without an Account. Guest reference images are stored in the browser where possible; limited server-side records may be retained when needed to create an output, prevent abuse, debug failures, or maintain reliability.
  • Signed-in Accounts. Account-related Creative Inputs, Outputs, history, and support records may be retained while needed to provide the features you use. Cinel currently removes stored creative assets and generation records after its configured 30-day retention window, unless a longer period is required for a legal, security, billing, or operational reason.
  • Billing records. Order and payment-related records may be retained longer where required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, audit, or dispute-resolution purposes.

8. Security measures

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, loss, misuse, or disclosure. The Service uses encrypted connections in transit. Access to operational systems is limited to people and Service Providers with a legitimate need to know.

No internet transmission or electronic storage method is completely secure. Please use a strong password, keep your sign-in credentials confidential, and contact us promptly if you believe your Account has been compromised.

9. International processing

Cinel and its Service Providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from your local laws. When we transfer Personal Information internationally, we take steps intended to ensure an appropriate level of protection as required by applicable law.

10. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided Personal Information to us, contact us at support@cinel.app so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.

11. Your privacy choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of Personal Information associated with your Account. You may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, or request data portability.

To make a request, email support@cinel.app from the email address associated with your Account and describe your request. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We may retain limited information when necessary for security, fraud prevention, tax, accounting, dispute resolution, or other lawful purposes. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service, technology, or applicable law changes. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice through the Service, by email, or by another reasonable method where required by law.

13. Contact information and legal basis

For questions, concerns, or privacy requests, contact Cinel at support@cinel.app.

Where applicable data-protection law requires a legal basis, we process Personal Information to perform our contract with you, comply with legal obligations, pursue our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, or with your consent where consent is required.
