GPT Image 2.5 is the image generation that OpenAI shipped with ChatGPT Images 2.5 on September 8, 2026, and it is live on Cinel today. If you have ever generated a gorgeous product shot only to find the label reads "GOOD DYA", this release is aimed squarely at you: typography is more inspectable, packaging copy looks printed rather than painted, and follow-up edits change the thing you named instead of reshuffling the scene. Members pay 2 credits for a 1K still, and signed-in users can spend their free daily credits on it as well.
Earlier models treated text as texture. GPT Image 2.5 treats it as content. Titles, short taglines and label copy stay crisp enough to proofread inside the frame, which matters for posters, menu boards, book-cover concepts and e-commerce mock-ups where a single wrong letter ruins the asset.
The generation also tightens layout control. Object counts, placement and lighting direction stay closer to the brief, so a request for "two bottles, left one in shadow, label facing camera" usually arrives that way. And edits are more incremental: you can approve a subject, then adjust one detail per turn — the cap colour, then the background, then the shadow — without the label or face you already liked drifting away.
OpenAI released the model in two API flavours: a quick everyday variant that OpenAI pitches as both sharper and faster than GPT Image 2, and a slower precision variant for heavy editing and reference fidelity. Whichever route runs behind your Cinel request, the Cinel interface stays the same: one model, one price, an estimate before you generate.

Against GPT Image 2, the 2.5 generation is the pick when realism of printed text and stability across several edit rounds matter; both cost members 2 credits at 1K, so the choice is about behaviour, not budget. Stay on GPT Image 2 for prompts you have already tuned. Against Nano Banana Pro, choose GPT Image 2.5 for crisp English copy at a low credit cost, and choose Nano Banana Pro when you need large 4K renders with real-world knowledge, such as accurate diagrams or maps.
OpenAI released it with ChatGPT Images 2.5 on September 8, 2026. It is available to generate on Cinel now.
OpenAI offers a fast default variant, positioned as better than GPT Image 2 with lower latency, and a slower precision variant aimed at editing-heavy work such as product imagery. Cinel presents a single GPT Image 2.5 option with one price.
Members pay 2 credits for a 1K image. Using daily credits it costs 4. Larger sizes, more references or several outputs increase the estimate shown before you click Generate.
List the exact words in quotes and add an instruction such as "no extra words, no logo, no watermark". Generous margins in the prompt also reduce clutter.
Yes. Upload the approved image as a reference and request a single change. GPT Image 2.5 is tuned to keep the subject and label stable between turns.
If your workflow is already tuned for GPT Image 2, it remains a solid choice at the same member price. Move to 2.5 when label realism and multi-step edit stability are the priority.
