Veo 3.1 is Google's flagship video model, and it is the one to choose when the shot has to feel real — light falling naturally across a face, steam curling off a cup, the soft hiss of rain outside a window. It can generate sound with the picture, follow a first and last frame you supply, and render at 720p, 1080p or 4K. Clips are short and deliberate — 4, 6 or 8 seconds — and on Cinel the default is an 8-second, 16:9, 720p Veo 3.1 Fast clip with sound switched on.
Veo's trademark is grounded cinematic realism. Where some models push stylised energy, Veo leans into believable physics, texture and camera behaviour: shallow depth of field that racks focus convincingly, handheld movement with the right weight, materials that catch light correctly. It is the model people pick for premium product detail shots and quiet, observational scenes.
The second difference is audio as part of the scene. With sound enabled, Veo can deliver ambience, effects and spoken lines together with the video, which saves a round-trip to a sound library for drafts and social cuts. Add first-and-last-frame control for planned transitions, and a choice of Fast (for iteration) or Pro (for a more polished baseline), and you have a model designed for fidelity over speed. It costs more credits than most video models on Cinel, which is why it is best used once a concept is already proven.

Sora 2 (from 124 credits) also generates synchronized audio, offers 4/8/12-second clips and is cheaper per attempt, but it outputs at 720p-class sizes and rejects real-person faces in input images. Kling O3 (from 93 credits) gives 3–15 s flexibility and multi-reference control at up to 4K. Choose Veo 3.1 when realism, lighting and integrated sound justify a premium credit cost.
Veo 3.1 is developed by Google. Cinel offers it in Fast and Pro variants, plus lower-cost Beta options.
Fast is meant for quicker iteration across many prompts. Pro is the more polished baseline for final review and costs more credits.
Yes. With audio switched on, Veo 3.1 can produce ambience, sound effects and spoken lines with the video. Audio adds to the credit cost.
You can pick 4, 6 or 8 seconds. Cinel defaults to 8 seconds.
